Kate –
Dog Barber & Salon Owner
Kate is a fully City & Guilds qualified dog groomer. She trained at an Award Winning dog grooming school that prides itself on teaching Dog Groomers from all around the world. Kate also holds a National Diploma in Animal Care and is Emergency Canine First Aid qualified so as you can imagine animals are her passion.
With experience from Dog Grooming in both popular pet stores and veterinary practices we can assure that all your dogs needs will be met whilst in Kates care at the salon.
Kate prides herself on her professionalism and care for not just every dog but every customer who walks through the salon doors. Working along side local charities and rescue centres Kate been voted the number one dog groomer in Cardiff by the Three Best Rated the people vote for the last 8 years.
Michaela- Dog Barber & Salon Owner
Michaela has a passion for animals and enjoys spending her days surrounded by your pets. Whether you have a puppy or a golden oldie that needs a bath and brush up, Michaela is the one for you. Michaela treats all dogs in her care as if they are her own. She has devoted her career to helping rescues and charities to insure all animals have a loving home to call their own. You will find Michaela in the salon serving customers, booking your appointments and making sure each dog is bathed and dried to a very high standard. You can often find Michaela out and about searching for missing dogs or scanning found dogs for Missing Dogs Team Wales. Michaela is also a Pet Food Ambassador for local Food Banks distributing food to help keep pets in their homes.

Bailey
Bailey is our original salon Pug and is the reason K8’S Short Bark N Sides originally opened, he spent his time greeting customers as they entered through the salon doors and enjoyed an afternoon nap in one of the salon beds.
He liked to make sure that every pooch was well behaved and extended his forever growing list of four legged friends from the day our salon doors opened.
Louis
Louis our salon Frenchie started off his life with a very sad story, at the age of 14 months he found himself roaming the streets of Cardiff where he was picked up by the Dog Warden and began looking for his forever home. Little did he know his forever home would be with the team at Short Bark n Sides. Louis was rescued in 2017 and soon became part of the Short Bark N Sides family. Louis went from street dog to living the doggy dream! You may often find Louis with his face pressed up against the window waiting for his friends!
Albie
Albie the Special Pug. Albie has become the little heart throb of the salon, being born with brain damage is difficult for anyone, however this little Pug has the biggest character out of all the salon mascots. You can normally hear him before you see him. You can always count on this little fella to put a smile on your face, from him sniffing out treats to pinching and hiding toys, Albie brings so much life to the salon. This little man makes sure nothing gets in his way when he’s treat finding! The Short Bark N Sides team is Albies third family. We are so glad he has found his forever home with us!
Bungle
Bungle is following in the footsteps of Bailey being CEO of K8’s Short Bark N Sides you can often find him snoring his head off in the sun or greeting our customers with a smile and a bum wiggle. When he’s not snoring and greeting customers you can find him snuffling for treats other dogs have left behind. Bungle is the therapy dog of the salon, always on hand to help calm anxious dogs and makes everyone feel at home.
Jonah
Jonah is the youngest member of the team. You may catch him chasing a ball or flying through the air as hes not your average pug. Jonah is defiantly the clown of the grumble and will always be found with a huge smile on his face.
